I know, I know....I've been a little behind on my blog...(shrugging shoulders). It has been a little too long between posts, they are random at best, and I STILL haven't posted many sessions! BUT I do have a good excuse. I promise. I have been a little distracted because I have been working on a new website and blog!

That being said, it will be done by April 1st....

My next "post" will be when it goes live! Yeah!

I am so happy to announce the arrival of my daughter, Ainsley! As some of you know (especially those who had shoots with me and my big ole' belly :), my hubby and I were expecting her on December 30th. Well, she came on her due date, and things are going well so far! She's really good to us.

I took a break from shoots for a few weeks, but I am currently booking for shoots starting in February. Thanks for all your well-wishes and patience while I took some time to spend with her. Hopefully we'll talk soon!

One of my favorite parts of the "taking pictures process" is editing. It takes quite a bit of time, but it is completely worth it. Plus, I like to provide people with different options. One of the latest trends is for brides to include their grooms in their bridal portraits. I must say....I LOVE it. Why not just go for it? You end up getting pretty much double the photos of you and your sweetie (and we still take lots of just the bride :).

The firefighters of Station 21 wanted to have their photos taken all together....so they gave me a call, and that's just what we did! They wanted to take them at the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign. Boy, was it windy that day! They were good sports, though, and I got to stand on one of their other fire trucks to take some of the shots. Yeah!

Being the genius I am sometimes :), I managed to lock my keys in my car.... but they were so nice and it took them about 3 seconds to unlock it and save the day :). Talk about a nice bonus! That could have been a real hassle! Thanks, guys!

Shannon is a nice HS Senior, who is excited to graduate. She braved the high winds out at Red Rock last Saturday (even in her prom dress!) and we had a good time :). Once again, I am going to have to post more tomorrow - there are just too many good ones - can you blame me? She's so photogenic!

Kelsey & Austin are a sweet couple. I LOVE the way they interacted together - they were so natural in front of the camera! They were pretty much up for anything - even a photo of them kissing as they went down the escalator (keep posted tomorrow - I'll have part II) :).

Professional Development

I've been able to have two "kid in a candy store" moments this year. PMA (Photo Marketing Association), and WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International). I love going to see all the current, cutting edge equipment that are new to photography....

The following photos are a mix from both conventions....

My husband is incredibly supportive. He was able to come with me to both conventions. I couldn't do what I do without him! (excuse the blurry picture...we don't have the talent of taking pictures of ourselves) :)

Becky is a fellow photographer who I just adore. You can find her at www.beckyearlphotography.com. She is very talented, funny, and as you can see, gorgeous! We decided it would be fun to go and "scout out" different locations for future photo shoots. We headed downtown, risked our very lives (jk :), and then found a few other awesome places.

Morgan & Matt got married this last Saturday. It was soooooo windy! Poor Morgan's veil kept getting blown away. At one point (in the photo below), it blew up almost to the roof of the temple, kept going up, up, up, and ended up.....on the top of a palm tree in the parking lot! Quite the journey :). But her new, sweet husband went and retrieved it, so all was well.

Catering Unlimited is the by far the BEST catering company. It is owned by Natalie Littlefield, who is so talented and professional. She catered my own wedding, 5 years ago. She is amazing, and my husband still talks about her raspberry meatballs. Serious!!! I have much more where these came from, but here is a sneak peek at a new campaign for her website. ...my husband and I went to Spring Mtn. Ranch on Thursday to relax a bit. When we pulled up, I saw photographers EVERYWHERE. I was wondering what on earth was going on. I went up to one and asked. He told me they were there for WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International - it's a convention that I had gone to as well - where I saw a ton of cool photographers, bought my dream camera - yay!, and was able to find a ton of resources). Anyway, they had all signed up for a trip on their way home, where a bunch of ladies in bridal dresses were going to do a "trash the dress" session. Hello! That's a dream come true! A bride who is up for trashing her dress for the sake of some truly amazing shots?!? I would have TOTALLY signed up, had I heard about it. Well, it ended up as pure TORTURE. I had to sit and watch while everyone else got to take turns getting these amazingly cool pictures. I couldn't believe my rotten luck. BUT, I did end up sneaking a few anyway.... (cackle, cackle)...

*Note: The positions where I took these shots were purely leftovers. I know. It sounds like an excuse. But seriously.... they were! Just thought I'd share for fun...

I was in St. George this past weekend and stopped by the temple. It was a beautiful day and I was enjoying the grounds, when I saw this baby toddling up the temple steps. She was so cute that I couldn't resist taking a photo! I will post other photos from around St. George, soon :).
